Alison Nicholas, the former US Open Champion and Solheim Cup Captain was full of praise for Hallamshire when she officially opened the clubhouse after refurbishment, prompting articles in The Sheffield Telegraph and The Star.

Both newspapers reported how the refurbishment was part of ambitious improvements to the clubhouse and course. Alison, who started her golfing career at Hallamshire and is a life member said: “I have fond memories of Hallamshire and I’m proud to be an honorary member. The refurbishment has brought new life to the facilities which I am sure will be appreciated by members and visitors alike.”
